So BBC America announced that it will be airing the Doctor Who Christmas Special on the evening of December 25th.

While most Christmas day TV will be filled with reruns or throw-away holiday stories, Doctor Who will be ripping out my heart and jumping up and down on it and I will let it. Matt Smith (“Eleven”) was my first Doctor. It will be very hard to see him go, even though I am excited about Peter Capaldi and the story arc that was introduced in “Day of the Doctor”.

I just hope that Matt goes out with a smile on his face. We’ve had enough sad Doctor regenerations, I hope we get to see him laughing as he sheds the skin of that lost soul and turns into a hero looking for his home.
