Vincent by Ellie Goulding

I didn’t know this was a cover of a Don McLean song until I went to find this video and saw him in the writer credits.

There’s a lot going on with this song for me. First, I really like Goulding’s voice and I am hoping she puts out another solid album soon. Oddly enough, I was introduced to her music by my brother whose name is – you guessed it – Vincent. So when I saw this song on Spotify I felt I had to listen to it.

On top of that, I saw the movie Loving Vincent this year and really loved it. I know very little about Vincent Van Gogh except for what I learned in the Doctor Who episode, so the film wasn’t just beautiful to watch but also informative. After watching that movie, Goulding’s beautiful cover meant even more. If you haven’t seen the movie, I highly recommend it. But first, listen to this song.
