Actually, not much has changed from last week. I finished How to Understand Israel in 60 Days or Less but I am still working my way through the Star Wars book and Stamped from the Beginning. I did read a couple more chapters in We Could Be Heroes and I’m enjoying that. Stamped is SO LONG that I keep needing to come up for air so that might be a constant on my reading list for awhile.
So instead of focusing on what I am currently reading, let me highlight some books that I just added to my TBR pile and I am hoping to get to then next!

One of my FAVORITE authors that I drop everything to read is Neal Shusterman. I haven’t read all of his books, but I have read a lot of them. The Unwind Dystology and Arc of the Scythe trilogy are two of my favorite series and ones that I suggest to many readers. He reminds me a lot of Michael Crichton in the sense that he takes some bit of real science and throws it to an extreme to create a fascinating “what if” scenario…and then throws in some twists, turns and thrills into the mix. His books are always quick reads and even when I don’t love them, I still enjoy them.
I have NO idea what Game Changer is about and I think I will keep it that way. One of the first books I read by Shusterman, Bruiser, is one that I picked up based entirely on the cover and I needed a book to read on a plane trip. I always tell people that usually the book goes away once we are at cruising altitude, but this book I read the entire flight and could not put down.

Another book I have been meaning to get to for over a year now is the first ever Murderbot NOVEL – Network Effect.
Prior to this, all of the Murderbot books were short novellas, usually around 200 pages. They are very quick reads, with lots of action and humor and I loved them all (even if I struggled with not gendering the Murderbot which is my brain’s problem but still). This came out last year in March but I had pandemic brain and couldn’t focus on anything so it sat on my desk, unloved. But now that I seem to be able to read again, I’m going to finally dig into this one.
So those are the next two books in the TBR pile, along with the next Star Wars book for the book club.
Any new books come out that you’re looking forward to? Any books from last year that you’re finally getting around to?
