Tabletop Tuesday – Oxventure Returns!

It’s been awhile since I did some shameless promotion of one of my favorite group of gamers – The Oxventurers!

Yes, OutsideXbox and OutsideXtra are technically video game-focused YouTube channels…except when they aren’t. On a whim a few years ago, they started playing D&D together and it has become a big enough hit for them to release merchandise (and have it sell out in a matter of moments), begin a second ttrpg based show using Blades in the Dark, and even have one of their own write and publish a ttrpg.

If you’re looking for a fun actual-play D&D show to watch but don’t know where to start, let me suggest the new arc of the Oxventure series! They are moving to a weekly format, have upped their production values, and the newest adventure just started this week!

What I love about Oxventure is that they are more focused on the storytelling and having fun. If you’re a rules-lawyer kind of person, you won’t like it – DM Johnny Chiodini has no problem bending some rules when it serves the story. The group has great chemistry and enjoys a good laugh above all else, though not to the point of breaking the game…though they have accidentally derailed things a few times when an idea got stuck in their heads…but it all worked out in the end!

Curious? Watch this short recap video (it’s less than 8 minutes!) that introduces you to the characters and the most important plot lines:

If silly people having a good time telling ridiculous stories sounds like fun to you, you can watch “Sphere We Go” NOW on the OutsideXbox YouTube page with new episodes premiering every Sunday. If you want to get really wild, you can join the fans in the chat but that’s not required to have a good time.

But I hope to see you there. 🙂
