I’ve played a bit: Inscryption

‘Inscryption’ is one of those fantastic games that the less you know going into it, the better. I downloaded the demo on a whim during one of the online gaming festivals, the teaser art immediately peaking my interest, along with the tags of deck building, rogue-like, and psychological horror. Um, yes please?

And that is all I’m going to tell you. Because I have played over 7 hours now and every minute has been a delight. A creepy, disturbing, mind-bending delight, but a delight none-the-less. And you should experience it as spoiler free as you can.

This is the first game I have played by Daniel Mullins but I went ahead and bought his other two after only playing this demo.

If you like card games, if you like puzzle games, if you like weird games that play with genres in a unique way, if you like games that are somehow both classic and unique at the same time, this is worth every penny.

I want to say more, I want to tell you everything, but I know it wouldn’t be nearly as fun if I had known more than I did going in.

Just…go play it. Play 7 hours and then we can speak freely about [redacted] and [redacted] and OMG [redacted]!!!

Inscryption is currently available on PC via Steam, Humble or GOG.
