Music Monday: Stephen Sondheim

I don’t have anything eloquent to say about the musicals of Stephen Sondheim that hasn’t been said over the past few days by people more qualified to talk about those sorts of things.

So here is the first song in the first musical I ever saw by him.

Comedy Tonight!

Fun fact: this musical apparently prompted me to tell my parents that I “wouldn’t be a virgin forever.” – I was probably like 7?

Fun fact #2: I somehow convinced my high school to do this as the musical for Senior year and I’m not sure how that got approved. I wasn’t in the play, but I was a cheerleader for drama club that year.

Do you have any Sondheim memories? Favorite songs? Little moments? All we have are moments…
